your elopement photographs should feel like the day you actually lived
Choosing to elope is deeply personal. You chose a day with fewer expectations, more freedom, and space to be fully present with one another. Your photography should protect that.
You should have the freedom to live the day as it unfolds, knowing the people, the place, and the moments you didn't even realize were happening are being preserved.
YOUR elopement ISN'T A PHOTOSHOOT
It is a day you chose to experience together, in a place that means something to you. My role is to document it without turning every moment into a production - stepping in when guidance is helpful and leaving room for the unexpected everywhere else.
The photographs that matter most are often found between the plans: the quiet drive before your vows, the wind catching your veil, muddy boots, the way you look at each other when no one is asking you to. I pay attention to all of it.
I've been on the other side of the camera, choosing a place that meant something to us and trusting someone else to document it.
My husband and I were married beneath the Tetons in Jackson Hole, surrounded by our closest family. I went fly fishing with my dad before getting ready. Our pup was part of the day. We signed our marriage papers in the bed of a pickup truck.
We didn't choose Jackson Hole because it made a beautiful backdrop. We chose it because the place already felt woven into our story.
That experience shaped the way I photograph elopements. I pay attention to the relationship between the two of you and the place you've chosen - whether you're exchanging vows beneath the Tetons, spending the day in Paradise Valley, Montana, or traveling up to Glacier National Park.
YOU'RE IN THE RIGHT PLACE
Long before your elopement arrives, we'll shape the photography experience around the day you're planning. From location and light to timeline considerations and permit logistics, I'll help you think through the details that allow the day to unfold with intention.
When the day arrives, I'll know the plan - so you don't have to think about me or the camera. I'll step in with direction when it's helpful, keep an eye on timing, and quietly watch for moments unfolding beyond the obvious.
Whether the day begins slowly over coffee, takes you down a dirt road, or ends with the people you love most gathered around a table, I'm paying attention to the parts of the story you may not get to see until the photographs bring you back.
Within 72 hours, you'll receive a curated first look at your elopement photographs. Your full gallery follows within the next 6-10 weeks, thoughtfully edited and preserved in a private online gallery for you to return to, share, and relive.
For those who want something tangible, fine art heirloom albums are also available - designed to hold the story beyond the screen.
Every Valley & Veil elopement collection ranges from 4 or 6 hours to full-day photography coverage. Collections include thoughtful planning support, location and timeline guidance, a fully curated high-resolution gallery, a 72-hour highlight preview, and unlimited personal printing rights.
Curated elopement collections with additional planning support and thoughtfully selected additions are also available for couples looking for a more inclusive experience.
Where you choose to marry becomes part of the story.
We'll talk about what you actually want the day to feel like - mountains, open land, a quiet lake, somewhere you can bring your dogs, or a place already woven into your relationship - and narrow down locations that make sense for the two of you.
I'll help you consider light, season, accessibility, privacy, and photography so you're not choosing a location based on Pinterest alone.

everything you're wondering, answered honestly.
Very. We'll work together to shape the photography experience around the day you're planning. I'll help with local considerations, light, timing, and the overall flow of your elopement so the day feels natural rather than built around a photoshoot.
Absolutely. Most of my couples are planning their elopement from out of state. I'll help you navigate the local considerations, seasonal conditions, accessibility, and trusted local recommendations so you're not trying to piece everything together alone.
I provide guidance on photography and ceremony permit requirements based on your chosen location and can help point you towards the appropriate resources and contacts for the application process. For my own elopement in Jackson, I was most stressed about this but learned the ins and outs of the process. Permit requirements vary by location.
Yes. Valley & Veil is rooted in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Paradise Valley, Montana, and is available for elopements throughout the American West and destinations worldwide. Travel is thoughtfully tailored to each location and celebration.
Of course. An elopement doesn't have to mean getting married completely alone. Whether it's just the two of you or you're surrounded by a small group of the people closest to you, we'll shape the photography around the day you've chosen.
For couples looking for a more supported experience, curated elopement collections are available with additional planning support and thoughtfully selected additions based on your location and the day you're envisioning. We'll talk through what you need and shape the experience around the two of you.
You'll receive a curated highlight preview within 72 hours of your elopement. Your complete gallery is delivered within 6-10 weeks, with every image individually selected and edited to feel cohesive, intentional, and true to your day.
Once you've inquired and we've determined we're a good fit, your wedding date is officially reserved with a signed agreement and non-refundable retainer. Because I accept a limited number of celebrations each year, dates are available on a first-contracted basis.
Elopement dates can book well in advance particularly during peak seasons in Jackson Hole and Montana. Reaching out early gives us more room to thoughtfully plan your experience around location, light, and travel.
I only take on a limited number of weddings and elopements each year to ensure a highly efficient and personal experience for my couples.
Reach out and say hello. I'll send over my Welcome Guide with collection details and pricing, and if it feels like the right fit, we'll connect to talk through the elopement you're envisioning. From there, your date is secured with a signed agreement and retainer.
