I've always been the person who wants to hold onto things a little longer. The way someone laughs, a familiar hand. The places that become part of our story without us realizing it at the time.
Maybe that's why I've always been drawn to photographs.
Not simply for the way they show us what something looked like, but for their ability to bring us back to who we were, who we loved, and how it all felt.
I grew up in New York and built my photography career documenting weddings throughout the East Coast. For the last thirty years, this was home - familiar roads, old estates, and celebrations tucked into places I'd always known.
Then a destination wedding brought me to Montana.
What began as a work trip became a cross-country road trip West, and somewhere between the open roads, the mountains, and the Tetons rising in front of us, something shifted.
We got engaged in the Tetons on this trip, and married here a year later. We signed our marriage papers in the bed of a pickup truck, brought our dogs along for the celebration, and I spent the morning of my wedding fly fishing with my dad on the Snake River.
The West became more than a place I loved.
It became part of my family's story.
The places we choose become woven into our memories.
The mountain you saw as you walked toward one another. The wind that caught your veil. The table where everyone you love sat together. The room where your dad saw you dressed and ready for the first time.
These details become part of the way we remember.
I photograph weddings and elopements with a deep reverence for both people and place because, years from now, I want your photographs to hold all of it.
Not only how it all looked, but how it felt to be there.
